Mr sinouk sisombat creator and owner of sinouk coffee, lodge, suanAll began in 1994, when Sinouk returned back Laos after having spent more than 30 years of his life in France. Motivated to pay a contribution to his early childhood homeland, he chose coffee as his field of business development. Coffee is a commodity from his region-born origin and has the potential to become the flagship product of Laos.

He began with the green beans trade from 1995. His company was then been equipped with high quality coffee beans processing machineries. He developed his own coffee plantation, in 1997. The present estate is 50 ha wide and is now transformed into a resort with beautiful gardens, becoming progressively a tourist destination. Always to add by all means more value to its production, the company shifted its main activity to the roasting, creating the SINOUK brand name and launching the brand new SINOUK COFFEE line in the in early 2003. Success is still ongoing....


The latest award for our effort for higher quality was the organic certification obtained in 2009,valid for Laos, Thailand and the EU. With his coffee, officially organic certified, his own coffee shops outlets at prime locations, his own coffee plantation, SINOUK remains still powered by his first day enthusiasm and passion. He is more than ever committed to develop the Coffee was introduced in Laos in 1920 by the French colonialists. Only Arabica of variety Bourbon Typica was planted but most of the plantations were destroyed by rust disease just before World War II . Robusta was introduced then.

No progress until 1975, when were developed state owned plantations. Cuban and East German experts reintroduced again Arabica (Catuai and Catura varieties). But these farms were dismantled beg.90's and the lands redistributed to their former workers, that are the small holders today.

In 1992 a new variety of Arabica, the Catimor, rust disease resistant, was introduced and to now most of Lao Arabica is of that genetical variety. Still persist some Typica and Catura...
